We Are Inviting You to Pitching for a Better Baltic Sea 2020

On 28-29 October 2020, we will repeat last year’s success with the event Pitching for a Better Baltic Sea – this year the event will take place online!

Pitching for a Better Baltic Sea aims to strengthen transnational and cross-sectoral collaboration in the Baltic Sea Region within the creative industries. Bringing together start-ups, SMEs, incubators and other CCI organisations and actors from the Baltic Sea Region, the event demonstrates how the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals for climate change and sustainability can create value, give direction and lead toward the innovation and investments of the future. Read on and find out more about the program for the two days below.

28 October 2020

The pitching competition will take place on 28 October. Welcome speeches will be held by Simon Drewsen Holmberg, Director of the Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania as well as by Ronnie Fridthjof, CEO of Filmby Aarhus.

The pitching competition will consist of 10 international pitches by Danish, Latvian, Estonian and German entrepreneurs in which they will pitch their creative ideas on how to make the Baltic Sea Region a better place to an international jury of experts.

In between the pitches, there will be two keynote sessions. The keynote speakers are Caroline Gjerulff, Project Manager and Film Commissioner for Vision Denmark and Rebecca Vera Stahnke, founder and CEO of Veras Vintage.

While the jury deliberates, a concert by Chris Noah will take place. The winning pitch will be innovative, commercially sound and will have implemented the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals 12 and 13 into its idea to point the way toward a better Baltic Sea and the winner will get tickets for the Sónar+D Conference in Barcelona in June 2021.

29 October 2020

Following the exciting activities from the day before, the 29 October will offer an internationalisation workshop for the start-ups participating in the event. The workshop will be led by Rasmus Tscherning, CEO and Founder of Creative Business Network.
